Daniele Caramani

Daniele Caramani is Professor of Comparative Politics at the University of Zurich (currently on leave) and Ernst B. Haas Chair at the European University in Florence where he directs the European Governance and Politics Programme. He is also the Director of the Doctoral Programme "Democracy Studies" at the University of Zurich and Co-Director of the online electoral data archive CLEA (University of Michigan). His research takes a long-term historical perspective and includes work on political cleavages at national, European and global level, elections and representation, parties and party systems, democratization, state formation and nation-building, methodology, and political geography.
