Florian Schaffner

Florian Schaffner is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich. In his doctoral dissertation at the University of Oxford he studied the effects of empathy on political behavior. His research interests surround political behavior, political psychology, affective polarization, and direct democracy, which he studies using surveys, experiments, and machine learning. He also holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor in Social Sciences from the University of Zurich.
