Francis Cheneval studied philosophy and political science at the Universities of Fribourg and Georgetown (USA). He has lectured and conducted research at the École pratique des hautes études, Universidad de los Andes, University of Oxford, Université de Nantes and Université Libre de Bruxelles, among others. In 2006-2008, he was Rapporteur for Property Rights at the Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor (UNDP, New York). Since 2011 he holds the Chair of Political Philosophy at the University of Zurich. He is currently engaged in interdisciplinary research on the legitimacy of ADM-supported political authority and on property rights of personal data.
