Matthias Leese

Matthias Leese is Assistant Professor for Technology and Governance at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences, ETH Zurich. His research is interested in the effects of digital technologies on social order. It pays specific attention to security organizations and their rationales and practices that are co-constituted between the technological and the social. Before joining ETH Zurich as a Senior Researcher in 2016, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Tübingen. He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Freiburg, an M.A. in political science from the University of Hamburg, and a Ph.D. in international relations from the University of Tübingen.
