Sara Kallis

Sara Kallis is a Doctoral Candidate and Assistant at the Chair of Political Behavior and Digital Media at the Department of Political Science of the University of Zurich. Her research interests revolve around state-citizen relations and conflict studies, particularly focusing on the interactions between state repression and protest movements. She has a keen interest in the role of technology in shaping these processes and employs computational and statistical methods to study them. Previously, Sara worked on predicting armed conflict for the Violence & Impacts Early Warning System (VIEWS) based at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and Uppsala University. She holds a Master in International Relations and Political Science (2021-2023) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), with an exchange stay at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the Harvard Kennedy School. She earned her Bachelor in Political Science and Art History from the University of Zurich (2018-2021).
