Tina Freyburg

Tina Freyburg is Professor of Comparative Politics in the School of Economics and Political Science of the University of St.Gallen and co-directs the Institute of Political Science. Hers is an innovative and diverse research program and range of courses, which draw together her interest in empirical democracy research, applied social science research methods, and evidence-based policy advice. She has a keen interest in tackling some of the most important challenges in a globalizing and digitizing world, with a focus on the protection of democratic core principles and institutions— be it in the digital space, or against populist attacks. She is PI of the Project "Telecommunications politics in authoritarian developing countries".
